SOIL INVESTIGATION (Phase I)
In view of the complexity of construction 30km out at sea, the condition of the soil of each of the locations of the wind turbines first needs to be subjected to a meticulous inspection. Work at sea can only be carried out during the period from May to September (called the ‘workable season’), subject to weather conditions and the major cost impact the weather has on work carried out at sea. In April 2004, C-Power started with a soil investigation for the first phase of the WEP, namely the survey on the six WTG locations, the measurement met mast and the offshore HV sea cable. A detailed soil investigation was needed to define the foundation type of the WTGs and the sea bed conditions for the whole cable trajectory. Click on the surveys hereunder for more information.
